CEES Colloquium Series
September 17 * 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Michael Lamb, Assistant Professor of Politics, Ethics and Interdisciplinary Humanities and Director of the Program for Leadership and Character, will continue the CEES Colloquium Series on Monday, September 17 with a discussion about the ethics of communicating climate change. Coffee and dessert will be provided. Feel free to bring your own lunch along with your coffee mug and water bottle. RSVP here and please read Michael’s paper “Ethics for Climate Communicators” to prepare for the discussion.
Published in The Oxford Encyclopedia of Climate Change Communication, the article examines some of the challenges of communicating climate change and analyzes how to ensure that climate communication is both ethical and effective. Drawing on three influential frameworks from moral philosophy, it seeks to provide practical moral guidance to scientists, policymakers, and advocates committed to communicating climate change.
This Weekly Colloquium Series is designed to allow CEES affiliates to gather in community and share updates on their current research, academic writings, courses and more. We plan to host the colloquia every Monday starting on September 10 and ending on December 3. Questions or ideas? Would you like to present? Contact Erin Stephens at email@example.com.
