Lyons Gray served as Chief Financial Officer of the Environmental Protection Agency, under President George W. Bush, where he managed a budget in excess of $7 billion from 2005-2009. Gray is a Winston-Salem businessman who spent more than a decade working for the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company.  In 1989, he began the first of six consecutive terms representing Forsyth County in the North Carolina House of Representatives. During his 14 year tenure, he chaired the House Finance Committee.  He is currently the Senior Advisor to the President of the 17-campus University of North Carolina. In this role, Gray provides guidance on state and federal issues impacting the University, as well as University efforts to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
